Cary Chargers offers a great Cheerleading opportunity for girls and boys from ages 3 - 18! The Cary Chargers Cheerleading Program is comprised of student-athletes with excitement for cheerleading and a ton of spirit.
We are a competitive team and travel is required. Ages 8/9 and up must pay a $200 competition deposit per cheerleader by August 10th applied to regionals ($50) and nationals ($150). Those failing to pay the deposit will be placed on an exhibition team as available.
Jr. Tiny Mite:
Jr. Tiny Mite is for ages 3 and 4 (as of July 31st). The Jr. Tiny Mites will have a regular season which will end at October’s local exhibition. They will cheer at games (TM or MM game). They will perform an exhibition routine at our local competition in October. Practices can be 'mommy and me'. Bring your 3 and 4 year olds for some fun. This is a COED division open to girls and boys. The cost for this division includes your child's uniform rental and is $180.
CHEER COST: Jr. Tiny Mite (Ages 3-4) $180; All other ages $285
System Fees charged by Sports Connect are Non-Refundable
$25 processing fee on refunds prior to July 1st; $50 processing fee on refunds after July 1st
No refunds after July 30th (Processing fees do not apply when a team cannot be formed, however, system fees are non-refundable)

Cheer & Dance Information
Each spirit squad is assigned to a football team and cheers at their games as well as compete in the local cheer & dance competition. Cheerleaders at the Mitey Mite level and above may advance to post-season competition, or be required to travel with their football team to post-season games. If a team/squad advances to the Regional level, out-of-state travel will likely be required. Regional competition is currently held in November (likely the weekend before Thanksgiving). National competition is held in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios in December. Opportunities are provided for participants ages 3 – 18 (age as of July 31st). Program Information
- The Pop Warner season starts August 1st (when it does not fall on a Sunday). Conditioning practices in August are 4 days a week to allow each cheerleader to get the 20 hours needed to be able to participant in the first game of the season.
- Following conditioning, practices will be no more than three nights a week as determined by the coach.
- Football games are played on Saturdays. Games start in late August through the end of October with Championship games to follow. There will be a total of 9 games to allow for makeup games due to bad weather. WE DO PRACTICE/PLAY ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND! PLEASE TRY TO PLAN ANY FAMILY VACATIONS ACCORDINGLY.
- Athletes will be placed on a team based on age, experience, and the number of participants. Team placement is the responsibility of the cheer commissioner. Requests may be made, but please know nothing can be guaranteed. Team formations are based on the number of participants registered and the ages of those registered. There are no try-outs.
- Your registration includes cheer uniform rental, boy cut brief, game day bow, pink bow, and competition bow. Bows and briefs are yours to keep.
- Mandatory Additional Items Required: All cheerleaders must purchase their own no-show white socks, black soffe shorts, cheer practice t-shirt, and white cheer shoes. Purchasing information is provided by us so that everyone gets the right items.
- Dance participants will also need to purchase a dance costume and dance shoes. CPW will roster at minimum one dance team each season.
We will have a local competition in October. Jr. Tiny mite performs an exhibition routine, Tiny mite and up will compete for advancement to the next competition! We offer fundraising to help with competition and other team-related expenses (gym space rental, team competition registration costs, etc.). Please note: Pop Warner competitive-level teams start at the Tiny Mite level. We are a competitive team and travel is required. Those failing to pay the deposit will be placed on an exhibition team as available.
